Summary:

We are looking for a analytical, data oriented, strategic VP of Sales to join our amazing team! Previous experience in the cannabis industry is preferred, however we will consider qualified candidates that have experience outside the industry. We have an existing, top performing sales team and are now looking for somebody to lead the team.

VP of Sales duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop an annual sales plan in support of organization strategy and objectives
  • Establish sales objectives, forecast and develop annual sales quotas for regions and territories
  • Establish and implement short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
  • Project sales volume and profit for existing and new products
  • Develop and implement long term revenue goals for overall company budget
  • Maintain sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors
  • Establish and adjust sales prices by monitoring costs, competition, and supply and demand
  • Provide strategic insight and guidance to leadership
  • Recommend sales strategies for improvement based on market research and competitor analysis
  • Present market trends and opportunities for current product while assisting in the strategic development of product lines
  • Collaborate with marketing on merchandising and product strategies for increased sales through all channels
  • Consistently establish new product distribution channels to increase product sales
  • Work cross functionally to develop brand positioning, creative strategy and key campaigns that will significantly drive the evolution of the brand, the brand voice and brand awareness within the Cannabis industry from Sales perspective
  • Attend trade shows and major account meetings to ensure brand identity is conveyed properly
  • Build, develop and manage sales team capable of carrying out superior sales and service initiatives
  • Implement and execute sales policies and practices
  • Implement approved distribution strategies
  • Direct and coordinate company sales and marketing functions
  • Develop and coordinate sales selling cycle and methodology
  • Direct and oversee marketing to identify and develop new customers for products
  • Research and develop strategies and plans which identify marketing opportunities, direct marketing, and new project development
  • Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results
  • Develop and manage sales and marketing budgets, and oversee the development and management of internal operating budgets
  • Directly manage major and critical developing client accounts
  • Coordinate the management of all accounts
  • Supervise the planning and development of company marketing and communications materials
  • Supervise the preparation, issuance, and delivery of sales materials, exhibits, and promotion programs
  • Promote positive relations with partners, vendors, and distributors

VP of Sales requirements and qualifications:

  • 7+ years of sales management experience, with a proven track record leading successful sales teams while meeting or exceeding set goals
  • Established cannabis relationships – preferred
  • Experience in planning and executing marketing strategies, advertising campaigns, and successful public relations efforts
  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes
  • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings
  • Ability to develop new business in the Cannabis industry
  • Ability to set budgets, manage expenses and forecast accurately
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a dynamic, fast paced, startup environment
  • Keen market knowledge of compliance and regulation
  • Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management
  • Knowledge of structuring sales quota goals and revenue expectations
  • Excellent written communication, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent Excel/PowerPoint/Word/Google Suite skills
  • BA or BS preferred
  • Cannabis industry experience required
  • CRM experience required
  • Marketing and PL experience a plus
