This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance and management of the employees within all departments.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time transfers
  • Create and implement QA/QC programs; perform quality audits and participate in all required training
  • Maintain operations by preparing policies and standard operating procedures; implementing production, productivity, quality standards; determining and implementing system improvements
  • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
  • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
  • Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
  • Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff
  • Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime
  • Commit to plant safety procedures
  • Address employees’ issues or grievances
  • Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts
  • Increasing production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
  • Drive continuous improvement and optimization of all processes
  • Provide leadership on major issues facing the organization
  • Working collectively with support managers and understanding all aspects of the business
  • Direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations
  • Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
  • Provide manufacturing knowledge and skills to support all aspects of production ensuring profitable, on-time, quality product to customers

Preferred Skills and Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Operations Management
  • Minimum of 2 years of METRC experience
  • Proven managerial experience
  • Quality control experience strongly preferred
  • Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning and resource allocation)
  • Must be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes
  • Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
  • Strong team building, decision making and people management skills
  • Computer literary a must
  • Cannabis Pharmaceutical and/or food manufacturing experience is a plus
  • Cannabis Compliance is a plus
