The Human Resources Manager will engage in all aspects of personnel management. You will be responsible for recruiting, staffing, training, employee relations, compliance and organizational development.

Responsibilities and Job Description:

  • Develop, revise, administer and recommend human resources plans and procedures that relate to company personnel in support of operational goals
  • Ensure that the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of human resources plans and programs are realized
  • Foster positive employee relationships through communication and responsiveness
  • Facilitate HR administration in a confidential manner and organize confidential employee data with discretion
  • Coordinate onboarding procedures related to new-hire orientation, training and policy communication
  • Coordinate onboarding procedures related to new-hire orientation, training and policy communication
  • Facilitate execution and paperwork activities for new-hires, promotions, transfers and terminations in accordance with state and federal regulations
  • Create, revise and communicate job descriptions
  • Conduct annual salary surveys
  • Maintain and revise the company’s handbook on policies and procedures
  • Maintain contact with payroll in order to perform benefits administration
  • Oversee recruitment efforts for all personnel, including writing and placing job ads
  • Oversee exit interviews
  • Maintain department records and reports
  • Participate in administrative staff meetings
  • Maintain company directory and other organizational charts
  • Assist with company event planning
  • Develop, analyze and update the company’s evaluation program
  • Assist with the company's performance management program, including communicating upcoming assessment periods, tracking assessment progress, and coaching both employees and managers through the process
  • Support the establishment of an employee training system
  • Plan and administer applicable training
  • Maintain employee training records
  • Administer disability, workers compensation claims and FMLA/CFRA leave
  • Remain updated and compliant with federal and state HR and OSHA regulations
  • Prepare and analyze reports as needed
  • Use the Microsoft Office and Google suites to maintain records

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Professional and courteous disposition
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent Excel/Access/Powerpoint/Word/Google Suite skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
  • Knowledge of relevant federal, state and local employment laws required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment while balancing multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Ability to thoroughly research and effectively communicate information to company leaders
  • Bachelor's degree required. Master’s degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in HR is required
  • Enthusiasm and self-motivation are essential
  • Cannabis Industry experience is a plus
